ABOUT

Grovedale Baptist began as a new church community in the developing area of Grovedale in the late 1960s.  The church was constituted in 1970 and built its current facility at 94 Pioneer Road. An extension in the 1990s and a further major extension in 2007 have provided a facility that enables the church to worship and provide ministry to its community. The church continues to provide a gentle contemporary worship service each Sunday that is centred on celebrating  God’s grace as well as providing a live stream of the weekly service on YouTube.

Pastor: Rev Ross Morgan

Ross has been the pastor of Grovedale Baptist Church since October 1999 and has overseen the life and development of the church, especially its engagement with those in the second half of life. Originally from Melbourne where he grew up in Blackburn, he now calls Geelong home after serving in churches in inner city Melbourne and in rural South West Victoria.  Ross is married and enjoys the delights of being grandpa to his grandchildren.

  4. The fallen, sinful and lost estate of all people.
  5. The salvation of men and women from the penal consequences and power of sin through the perfect obedience of the Lord Jesus Christ, His atoning death, His resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His unchanging priesthood.
  6. The immediate work of the Holy Spirit in the regeneration of men and women, in their sanctification, and in their preservation to the heavenly Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.
  7. The necessity, in order to know salvation, of repentance towards God and of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  8. The resurrection of the dead, and the final judgment of all people by the Lord Jesus Christ.
  9. The two ordinances of the Lord Jesus Christ, namely Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, which are of perpetual obligation: Baptism being the immersion of believers upon the profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and a symbol of the fellowship of the regenerate in His death, burial and resurrection; the Lord’s Supper being a memorial, until He comes, of the sacrifice of the body and blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.
